Dump Your Cherries Into The ‘Ol Crock Pot And Wait For This Delish Dessert To Emerge

I will admit.  I hate cherries.

I hate them on sundaes, I hate them on Tres Leches, I hate them on anything.  They have a weird taste and honestly remind me of kid’s Tylenol (maybe these companies shouldn’t flavor their medicines like food so kids don’t grow to hate them? I don’t know, just a thought…).  Just a few months ago, we were in Daytona, Florida and tried a new French café that had opened up.  It had lots of different options for crepes and I saw one the girl in front of me had ordered and I figured I’d give it a shot.

The strawberries looked so delicious and the strawberry syrup over the top of the whipped cream was just dreamy.  I was so anticipating it and then I took my first bite.  I wanted to spit it out.  It wasn’t strawberries, it was a cherry crepe! EW!

That was the last time I ate cherries…until last night.  I, the queen of hating cherries, made a cherry dump cake in the crockpot and my gosh, it was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time.  The filling was sweet but not yucky and the crust over the top was buttery and flaky and just the way I like it.  It was one that I will definitely keep making for years to come!
