The smells that used to come out of my Aunt Susan’s house when we would go to visit were some of the best smells that I ever remember from my childhood. She always cooked the most amazing meals for us whenever we would go there. I think it’s because she knew that my single mother wasn’t much of a cook, and she didn’t really have the time for homemade meals. That’s why, when we went to Aunt Sue’s, she would want us to have the meals that they grew up on.
One of my all-time favorite foods is stuffing, so when she would do stuffing with anything, I couldn’t stop myself from hanging around the kitchen. She did one meal in the crock pot that was unforgettable.
It was almost the same as this chicken and stuffing recipe I found on Group Recipes. When I made this at home, those same smells hit me again and brought back the best memories. Now, I get to create those memories for my kids.
