You’ll Be In First Place For Sure With Grandma’s Apple Pie

I have since made these pies for silent auctions and fundraisers around our town. They are always a huge money-maker. After my boss and his wife tried a piece, they were sure to share with everyone how good they are. Now, when they go up for sale, usually there is quite the bidding war. It’s worth the little bit of effort I have to put in to do such great things for our community. I am more than happy to do my part! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at All Recipes:

“I made this for the first time for a dinner party I had last week – mostly because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. And it did not disappoint. Women were begging for the recipe.”

Be ready to share this recipe with everyone that gets a taste. It’s one that worth holding on to!

Ingredients

1 Pillsbury recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

1/2 cup Land O’ Lakes unsalted butter

3 tablespoons Gold Medal all-purpose flour

1/4 cup water

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

8 Granny Smith apples – peeled, cored and sliced

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer.

Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice work crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off.

Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.
