We were having a dinner party at my house for my boss, his wife, and their three children. Now, when you hear the term “boss” you might think that he’s picky, stuffy, or spoiled…but his family is one of the nicest that I’ve ever met really. They are so down-to-earth and very classic country. When it’s time to go to work, he can get the job done, but when there’s socializing and relaxing to do, he can hang with the best of us.
Anyways, as part of the dinner, I wanted to serve a nice dessert, more for the kids than the adults, but I needed to be universal. I found this recipe for apple pie on All Recipes and decided it was worth a try. It seemed very traditional, fairly easy, and it could be done by the time I needed it.
When it came out of the oven, I couldn’t keep the people out of the kitchen! We hung out in there until it was cool enough to eat, and everyone gave me great big compliments. This is a pie I will be making again I’m sure!

Quick Tip: Brush egg whites on the bottom of the crust so it doesn’t get soggy.
