Moist Cake + Fudgy Frosting = a Delightful Vintage Dessert
About a decade ago my husband and I took a weekend trip to the city. It was a special occasion; the anniversary of the day we first met, and he wanted the trip to be something we would always remember.
We dined in one of the finest restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. What’s funny is that I have completely forgotten the name of the restaurant, but I clearly remember what I had for dessert. It was their mouth-watering chocolate cake; so delicious that I almost cried when I had my first bite.
Ever since that day I’ve been trying to find a recipe for a chocolate cake that would come close to that amazing one I had back then. There were many disappointments along the way, and some that were “pretty good, but still something missing”.
But last week I tried this recipe from Silk Road Diary and I swear, this turned out so amazing that I would probably ditch the restaurant cake for this one!
