Where’s The Beef?…Dumplings!

If there is one thing that I learned from my mom, it’s the fact that you need to make your slow cooker your best friend. There are so many times that I was cooking things that could have been done in the slow cooker, I look back now and just shake my head. Cooking in a slow cooker is easy, but it does take a bit of practice to understand how things work. You have to experiment with your own crock pot too, because they don’t always all cook the same.

When I got one for a housewarming present, I instantly started whipping things together that my mom shared with me. One of the recipes that she gave me was similar to this one from Recipe Lion for beef and dumplings.

We always had chicken and dumplings growing up, so this was a little different for me. I was curious at how it was going to turn out, and maybe even a little nervous. After so many hours of cooking, I didn’t want it to be bad. It turned out really good actually.

My whole family enjoyed it, and now I make it as part of my regular crock pot meals.
