A Traditional Southern Recipe With A Delicious, Italian Twist!
My kids drive me crazy sometimes. I’m sure it’s a feeling every parent encounters occasionally (or every single day) but sometimes you just really need a break from all the madness. I had one of those moments the other day when Miss Three and Mister Five were arguing about something – I never found out what it actually was.
The argument was well on its way to a fight and I was well on my way to insanity, trying to deal with holiday things, dinner preparations and three loads of laundry at the same time. At some point I just stood up and yelled “I’m making dessert!” and apparently that was such a weird thing to come out of my mouth that it silenced the kids immediately.
I know, “don’t bribe your kids”, “you should always talk things through”, and “distraction is only a temporary solution” – but right at that moment I couldn’t care less. I just wanted a little peace and quiet for a while and I don’t think it was too much to ask! So we made this awesome Southern banana pudding and all was well in the world again!
