Why We Poke Holes In Our Chocolate Cake (And You Should, Too)

After I told my kids about the cake I had during the meeting, they begged me to make it for them. It didn’t really take much convincing, because I love to make desserts.

I couldn’t wait to see how it all came together. Not only was it delicious, it looked really cool. I followed the recipe that the other mom gave me at the school and it was pretty easy really. Everyone in my house ate their fair share. I think we all had a stomach ache that night.

Ingredients

1 baked chocolate fudge cake (13×9″)

1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk

15.5 oz bottle hot fudge topping

2 cups of Borden heavy whipping cream

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup Domino powdered sugar

10 Oreo Cookies, crumbled

1/3 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions:

Poke holes randomly over the top of a warm chocolate cake. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into the holes.

Warm the chocolate fudge topping and pour on top of the holes. Let sit out so the flavors soak in, until cooled, approximately 20-30.

Chocolate Whipped Cream:

Whip the whipping cream, cocoa powder and powdered sugar until medium to stiff peaks.

Spread whipped topping on top of cake.

Scatter Oreo cookie crumbles and mini chocolate chips on top.

Refrigerate sealed and serve right from the pan when ready.
