This Is What Happens When You Combine a Croissant And a Donut

I love a good morning sweet treat! But sometimes, by the time I am done eating my breakfast, I am just too full to really enjoy anything else.  I tend to eat a big breakfast since it is my favorite meal of the day and will easily enjoy a big plate of scrambled eggs tossed with ham and cheese with a side of home fries or a croissant, bagel or toast…or maybe all of the above if it is available? Hahaha.

Well anyway, the other day my husband and I visited a new French bakery that opened up in our area.  It is rare to find a good French place around here so we always give it a try when we see it! Well, we were so surprised at what their main dish was: cronuts!

Yep, that is a cross between a croissant and a donut.  It is a mix of sweet and salty, not as dense as a donut, yet not as airy as a croissant.  It has the shape of a donut with a hole in the middle, yet the insides of a croissant with all the nooks and crannies.  It is truly such a cool little treat that I can eat any day of the week!
