Some might say French toast isn’t a very healthy choice, but you don’t have to worry about that with these roll ups!
Like Mark Cersosimo says in his recipe, any fillings desired will be ok for these. Add organic peanut butter and fresh fruit, and you’ll get a pretty darn healthy breakfast! You’d be surprised how good these taste with savory fillings, too. Try a hot dog with some sweet tomato and chili jam! It’s a flavor combination to die for! Have you tried this recipe already? We’d love to hear about it, in the comments below.
Ingredients
6 slices of bread
Any fillings desired (peanut butter, Nutella, fresh fruit, berries, jam)
2 Eggland’s eggs
3 tablespoons McArthur milk
⅓ cup Domino sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Kerrygold butter for your fry pan
Maple syrup, if desired
Instructions:
Remove crust from the bread and then flatten it.
Place about a teaspoon of each of your chosen filling, spread this out in a strip.
Roll the bread up and repeat until they’re all filled.
Combine your sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish and set aside.
Whisk your eggs and milk, and dip the roll up into it.
Melt your butter on your skillet which should be set on medium heat.
Place your roll ups on your hot buttered griddle and cook all sides until golden brown.
When browned, remove from the griddle and coat with cinnamon sugar.
Drizzle or dunk in maple syrup, if you want.
