Sweetly Southern – Oh, Bless Your Heart Buttermilk Pie

I really can’t say enough good about this southern buttermilk pie recipe.

The first time I had it I didn’t think that it looked like too much, but boy, after my first bite, I could definitely see what all the fuss was about. This pie is uh-mazing! Them folks from the south sure do know what they are doing in the kitchen. I can see myself making this southern buttermilk pie 30 years down the road from now when I’m 65.

I’ll just be moving and a shaking in the kitchen to my favorite tunes while waiting for this heavenly creature to bake. Yummo! The first time I made this pie for my family they weren’t so sure about it because of the texture but like myself after they tried it they were hooked.

The buttermilk really helps this pie set up nicely. I think of the consistency as like a pecan pie. As you can see from the picture it is of a gelatinous texture. It’s super sweet and satisfying, that’s for sure! I know you and your family are going to love this amazing pie. Enjoy!

Quick Tip: If your crust starts to brown too quickly in the oven “tent” it with aluminum foil.
