Spur-of-the-moment Cinnamon Applesauce Pancakes

These pancakes will definitely start your day right. They’re loaded with carbs and they’re sugary too (yet not too much). They will be the most perfect way to start a day that might or might not go the way you want to. At least you’ve eaten the most delicious breakfast in the morning. Our friends over at Mr. Food have this to say about this recipe:

I woke up one day to an enticing smell in the kitchen. I often wake up late because I sleep late, but I really couldn’t ignore such a wonderful smell from the kitchen.

It turned out someone’s cooking some delicious cinnamon pancakes. I think he stole the recipe from my compiled recipes from the internet.

 

Ingredients:

2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour

3 teaspoons Clabber Girl baking powder

1/4 cup Domino sugar

1/2 teaspoon Morton salt

2 cups water

1/2 cup Great Value applesauce

1 teaspoon McCormick ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon McCormick vanilla extract

2 tablespoons vegetable shortening

 

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add remaining ingredients except shortening; mix well.

In a griddle pan or large skillet over medium heat, heat shortening. Pour 1/4 cup batter onto hot griddle and cook 2 to 3 minutes, or until bubbles begin to form, then turn pancakes over and cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Continue in batches until all batter is used.
