Slow Cooker Beef Tips And Gravy Served With A Smile :)

If you are to serve a heavy meal, this beef tips recipe is the ideal recipe for you. Beef is something that almost everyone eats so it’s less likely that you will go wrong with these. Other than that, you can serve this with almost anything which makes it convenient for you. Like I said on the previous page, my family enjoys rice, egg noodles, or mashed potatoes with their beef tips. I find that the gravy really soaks into mashed taters or rice. Yum!

Our friends over at Making Memories With Your Kids had this to say about the recipe:

“When I was younger, one of my favorite meals that my mom made was beef tips with mushrooms and noodles, so that was one of the things that she made a week or so after Joseph was born. It totally hit the spot and was perfect comfort food. We had my grandparents over for lunch yesterday and when I was trying to think about what to make, I remembered that meal from January. Beef tips, it was!”

This made me remember my Mom’s recipe too. She loved cooking beef with mushrooms and serving it over hot rice or pasta. The thing about beef is that it tastes good with almost anything—rice, pasta, vegetables, and even bread! Ugh. Now I miss home more. I should pay them a visit one of these days and ask Mom to cook her version of this recipe.

Ingredients

2 lb cubed beef stew meat

1 envelope brown gravy mix

1 envelope onion soup mix

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 cup ginger ale (you can use water, but seriously, use ginger ale)

Instructions

Put the beef tips in your slow cooker.

Mix all of the other ingredients and pour over the meat.

Cook on low for 8 hours.

Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Enjoy!

I was really excited about this recipe, thinking it would be so tasty and my grandchildren would love it for St. Patrick’s Day, since I knew they wouldn’t eat corned beef. Sadly, they did not enjoy it at all – I made it exactly as the recipe said, even adding a bit of “Better Than Bouillion” beef seasoning to give it a richer flavor. I made mashed potatoes to go with it. My husband said it was good, but didn’t rave about it, which is always disappointing to me, so I will not be making it again. I made a double batch, so there is a lot leftover, which I’ll be making into Shepherd’s Pie.
