Set It And Forget It Summer Time Pot Roast

Whenever I make this, I try and use the biggest pot roast that we can afford to buy that week, and that will fit in the roaster. Mainly because there is so much that can be done with the leftover meat. One of my favorite things is using the gravy and mixing it in with some pasta and the leftover roast. It makes an excellent beef and noodles that even picky little ones like. It’s so simple too. It can be done on the stove top in just a few minutes. Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at Group Recipes:

After trying so many different pot roast recipes, this is the one that’s going to stick around at my house.

 

Ingredients

1 beef roast, any cut, to fit size of crock pot.

1 pkg. Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix

1 pkg. Lipton brown gravy mix

1 pkg. Italian dressing mix

1 Cup water

small red potatoes, scrubbed and quartered. (optional)

1 Cup celery , chopped (optional)

1 pkg baby carrots (optional)

 

Instructions

Combine mixes well and sprinkle over roast in pot. Pour water into bottom of pot. Cook on low for 6-7 hours.

During the last 3 hours, add potatoes and carrots.

Quick Tip: Feel free to pull your potatoes out and mash them if you prefer at the end of the cooking time.
