Oven Roasted BBQ Beef Brisket – It’ll Make Your Plate Smile!

This BBQ beef brisket is the perfect Sunday afternoon meal. I love popping this beef brisket into the oven while we are at church and coming home to a heavenly aroma wafting through the house. Usually, when I leave something in the oven while we are at church I’ll set the temperature lower than what the recipe suggests and just allow the meat to cook longer. You don’t want your meat to burn while you are gone.

I made this delicious beef brisket for my family and in-laws a few Sundays ago and everyone loved it. You won’t believe how easy it is to make!

Ingredients

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (160 degrees).

Sprinkle both sides of brisket with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Place in a large covered roasting pan.

Cook covered with no water at 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) allowing 1 hour per pound.

Before last hour of cooking, remove brisket and slice. Return slices to pan and add barbecue sauce mixed with water. Cover meat with sauce, cover, and cook 1 hour longer.
