Hush! And Eat This Cherry Lush

Why are people obsessed with “a cherry on top?”  Seems strange to me since I always hated cherries. But now I know what it means.  After trying this recipe, I see that cherries do not have to be the star of the show, but just that finishing touch that adds the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness.  You know what is one of the only other ways I will eat a cherry? Covered in chocolate.  Yeah, that is the best way to enjoy it.

 

I so agree, whether you are making this for the holidays, or any other occasion, you cannot go wrong.  This is easy, and so full of flavor, not to mention, very pretty.  You are going to love it!

 

Ingredients

1 c. Nilla wafer crumbs

1 c. finely chopped pecans

1 c. Land O’ Lakes butter, melted

8 oz. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened

1 c. Domino powdered sugar

16 oz. whipped topping, divided

2 small boxes Jell-O cheesecake flavored pudding 3 c. milk

1 can Lucky Leaf Cherry Pie Filling

½ c. chopped pecans

Instructions

In a medium mixing bowl, combine vanilla wafer crumbs, finely chopped pecans, and melted butter.

Press into a 9×13 inch baking pan; bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.

In a separate mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1½ c. whipped topping.

Mix until smooth; spread evenly over cooled crust.

Combine cheesecake pudding mix, milk, and 1½ c. whipped topping and mix until smooth.

Spread evenly over cream cheese layer in pan.

Top with 1 can Lucky Leaf Cherry Pie Filling, remaining whipped topping, and ½ c. chopped pecans.
