Homemade Creamy Coleslaw – A Picnic Staple!

There’s just something about creamy coleslaw that makes me smile. I’m not too much of a fan of the vinegar-based coleslaw but when you add in some mayo…mmm, so yummy! A lot of people think mayo is bad for you because it is fattening but I beg to differ. if you get yourself a good mayo that doesn’t contain sugar and is made with olive oil you’ve just fed your body a whole lotta GOOD and HEALTHY fat.

I like to sue Duke’s mayo because it does not contain any sugar. It isn’t olive oil based but that’s ok, the lack of sugar makes up for it. So, get ypourself some high-quality mayo and make this delicious creamy coleslaw, today!

Ingredients

1 package (14 ounces) coleslaw mix

3/4 cup Duke’s mayonnaise

1/3 cup Daisy sour cream

1/4 cup Domino sugar

3/4 teaspoon Lawry’s seasoned salt

1/2 teaspoon McCormick ground mustard

1/4 teaspoon celery salt

Instructions

Place coleslaw mix in a large bowl. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; stir until blended. Pour over coleslaw mix and toss to coat. Refrigerate until serving. Yield: 6 servings.

Quick Tip: Add a bit of purple cabbage to the mix for some lovely color and texture.
