Grandpa’s Traditional Salisbury Steak Burgers

It wasn’t until I was a much older adult did I fully understand why we had Salisbury steaks so much as a child. When we went to Grandpa’s house, he always put his on bread. At home, we usually paired them with rice or potatoes. Either way, they were tasty. Of course Grandpa’s was always better, and I think that’s because he made his fun for us. Instead of the steak we were used to, it was a burger, and what kid doesn’t love burgers.

When I got to the point where I started making my own meals, I found this recipe for Salisbury steak burgers online at Spend with Pennies. I couldn’t wait to give it a try.

It was just as good as Grandpa’s used to be. I had all kinds of emotions and memories flood back to me as soon as I took my first bite. They were all good ones of course.

I am so glad that I can now share this recipe with my kids, and hopefully someday they will share it with theirs.
