Grandma’s Traditional Ground Beef And Potato Casserole

Grandma’s house on cold winter evenings was always the best place to be. She and Grandpa always had the fire place going, they would play soft music…no television sets there…and we would just sit around and enjoy one another’s company. The house was usually filled with an amazing aroma of one of her homemade dishes. She didn’t have much to work with all the time, and she didn’t want it. She was the best at making something out of nothing.

Usually that meant a casserole, and that was just what warms you up on a cold day. Her hamburger and potato casserole was very similar to this recipe from Group Recipes. When I found this, I couldn’t wait to make it for my own family at home.

As soon as it started baking, the smell took me right back to those easy nights at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. We shut the television set off at my house that night and me and my own family sat around just enjoying one another’s company too.
