Grandma’s Best Green Bean Casserole

If there’s one thing I love about the holidays, it’s of course, the food! We have a family that seems to be bursting at the seams when it comes to squeezing into my grandma’s house anymore. All the once grandkids, now have kids of their own, so the size of our party has tripled from what it once was. We still have a good time when we get together though…reminiscing about the past, discussing current events, and just playing around.

That all happens, only after we say Grace, and have one of the most delightful meals of the year. My favorite dish is always the green bean casserole. Sometimes my aunt makes it and it’s pretty good, but other times Grams takes over and it is incredible. It is the best green bean casserole on the entire planet.

I always fill up the big section on my plate with this delicious side dish. It’s just like the recipe that I found on All Recipes. Once in a while I will surprise my kids and husband and make this for a random weekday, but for the most part, it’s so special we save it for those important family gatherings.

Quick Tip: Fresh green beans work best if they are available.
