Grandma’s Apple Crisp Takes Away All The Worries In The World!

How do you like to serve apple crisp? I always like to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but my sister’s favorite is to eat it as it is – steaming hot, straight from the oven!

My grandma used to make her own vanilla sauce to go with her apple crisp. It was to die for, and I have yet to find the perfect recipe for that. I’ll be sure to share it with all of you, when I do! If you have a favorite recipe, feel free to share it in the comments.

Ingredients

8 apples or 8 peaches, peeled

1 1cups Domino brown sugar

1 cup Gold Medal flour

1 cup oats

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp nutmeg

1cup cold Land O’ Lakes butter

Instructions:

Heat oven to 375F.

Lightly grease a 13×9 glass pan.

Cut apples (or peaches) into slices, removing seeds or pit, and layer in bottom of the prepared pan.

Combine the dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl and then cut in butter with a pastry cutter. Sprinkle the mixture over the apple slices.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. until the top is slightly browned.

Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

Quick tip: You could make this in small dessert ramekins instead of a 13×9″ pan.
