His Forgotten Lunch And The Butterscotch Cake

I have a nephew who didn’t want to bring lunch to school. He’s in that age when he thinks bringing packed lunch diminishes his “manly image”. My cousin, his very strict but sweet mother, tells me me that the boy purposefully leaves his lunch. He will get it from his Mom and conveniently “forgets” it in different parts of the house. My cousin used to get angry at him, but now she just thinks it’s amusing, most especially after finding out the reasonf or such an attitudemy nephew has a crush. On a classmate who is so “ladylike” that he wants to be “manly”.

Just recently, I learned over the phone that my cousin was able to remedy the situation, which brought advantage both to her and to her son. Her son now brings his packed lunch and is not ashamed of it. It so happened that the girl’s Mom is actually a close friend of my cousin. She found out that the girl is in love with butterscotch.

So she baked a butterscotch cake and prepared it along with the packed lunch. When her son was about to leave the lacked lunch, all she had to say was, “Brigette loves butterscotch. Don’t forget to share that cake with her.” She might not bake butterscotch cake every day, but my cousin makes sure her son brings something that he can share with the girl. Yes, problem solved!
