When my Uncle Bob passed away, we decided to do our own dinner at the church instead of paying a restaurant to host it.
He didn’t have a lot of money and he would have hated to see us spend a fortune just to feed a few of his closest friends and family members. I didn’t hesitate to say I would make a dish to pass, but then I was left scratching my head for what to bring. I did what anyone would do and took to the internet. Facebook had a lot of great recipes and this French onion meatball one really caught my eye.
I like meatballs and I really love French onion flavor so these had to be good, right? These were the biggest hit of all the visitors to the church hall. Thankfully, I had tripled the recipe and they lasted almost all the way to the end.
I can’t even tell you how many ladies came up and asked me for this recipe after giving their condolences and before heading back out into the day. I left feeling satisfied knowing that Uncle Bob was shining down on us while we enjoyed our delicious meal and reminisced about all the good times we had together.
