Experience The Joys Of Making No-Bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars!

When I need to make a quick treat I often turn to these no-bake peanut butter bars. Quite often, my children will come to me the night before they need a class treat and tell me that one needs to be prepared before the school bus leaves in the morning. I have no idea why they never tell me in advance. it’s like they think desserts magically appear like Cinderella’s pumpkin. I’m thankful for easy desserts like the one below.

I love how rich these peanut bars are. PB is one of my favorite ingredients to use in desserts. It tastes especially swell when mixed with chocolate.

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) Kerrygold unsalted butter, melted

2 cups animal cracker crumbs (or vanilla wafers, graham crackers, etc)

2 cups Domino powdered sugar

1/2 cup Jif creamy peanut butter

For the Topping

1/4 cup peanut butter

10 ounces Toll House semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

In a mixer or a food processor, combine the first four ingredients until smooth. Spread into a 13×9 baking pan.

For the topping, melt the chocolate and peanut butter together in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir. If not completely melted you can heat in 10 second intervals until smooth.

Spread over the top of the peanut butter layer.

Chill dessert in the refrigerator for about an hour, or in the freezer for 15 minutes. Cut into bars and serve.
