Easy Sloppy Joes….Made Extra Sloppy For Ya!

I usually make these the night before we are going to have them, and then stick them in the fridge overnight. In the morning I put them in the slow cooker and keep them on low. We can snack on them throughout the day or have them for dinner and they taste better than they did fresh! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at Recipe Lion:

Two pounds of ground beef make a pretty hefty portion. For smaller families, you can cut the ingredients list in half and still have plenty to make everyone happy. Just be sure to whip up a side dish or two and your meal is done.

 

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef

1 white onion, diced

1 green pepper, diced

2 teaspoons minced garlic (2 garlic cloves)

2 cups Heinz ketchup

2 tablespoons French’s yellow mustard

1 tablespoon Domino’s brown sugar

5 dashes tobasco sauce

¼ teaspoon McCormick’s black pepper

1 cup water

1 tablespoon olive oil for skillet

Instructions

Add olive oil to a large skillet or dutch oven and place over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown, about 10 minutes. Drain fat.

Add onion, green pepper, and garlic. Cook for an additional 4 minutes.

Next add ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, tobasco sauce, and black pepper and stir.

Turn heat down to low. Add water and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until thickened.

Serve on a toasted bun with bread and butter pickles.
