Easter Sunday Potatoes And Ham

Every Easter, after church services, we always head over to Grandma and Grandpa’s for a nice meal, an Easter egg hunt for the kids, maybe some cards, and pleasant conversation. Traditionally, we have a big ham with all kinds of different sides. As my grandparent’s are getting older though, it was getting harder for them to create the classic meal that we were used to. I wanted to make things as easy as possible for them, so I started combing the internet for ideas.

That’s when I found a recipe for scalloped potatoes and ham on The Pioneer Woman. It was everything that we were used to, but all in one dish. I told Grandma and Grandpa not to worry about dinner this year, I would take care of it.

I made up two of these dishes and filled a crock pot and dropped it off before going to church. By the time we got home, the house was filled with the best aroma of cheesy potatoes and succulent ham cooking. Grandma had everything ready to go.

She said, “That was the easiest meal I’ve ever made! Thanks!” Nobody complained that dinner was so simple, they all remarked how tasty it was. I think we have found a new tradition!
