Dropping Biscuits Into Sausage Gravy Is How Breakfast Should Be Done

Every Saturday morning after late night football games, my Mom always made us biscuits and gravy. It was perhaps, my favorite day of the week. Whether we won the game or lost, having a delicious breakfast to wake you in the morning always made you feel better.

One such weekend, my friends came and stayed after we had won our regional championship game. As soon as we got home she started dropping biscuits on pans to bake…she knew there was going to be a lot of eating going on in the morning.

After we celebrated our victory all night, we woke up in the morning to the mouthwatering scent of greasy sausage gravy cooking. As we all filed down the stars sleepily to eat, Mom was there with her apron on getting plates ready.

My friends couldn’t stop talking about how good these were to everyone at school. I found a recipe that was similar on The Pioneer Woman not that long ago, and now I make them for my son’s on Saturdays after they play a hard Friday night football game.
