During the summer, I find it nearly impossible to keep track of my busy teenagers. They are running to sports practices and events, going to visit with their friends, and heading out to various locations throughout our small town to enjoy fishing, the park, and biking. Getting everyone around the dinner table at these times just doesn’t happen. Even though I’m happy they are enjoying their freedoms, I miss those times during the school year when it’s easier to collect everyone at once.
When I found this recipe for honey glazed pork chops with mushrooms on Spend with Pennies, I knew it would get their attention. Before I left for work the morning I was going to make them, I left a note on the table that said “Be home for dinner at 6…you don’t want to miss this!”
Much to my surprise, everyone showed up promptly at six o-clock. I served these filling chops along with some yummy side dishes and thankfully, they didn’t disappoint. It was nice to see my family all together at the table, even if it was only for a few minutes.
