Dad didn’t cook often, but when he did, it was pretty hit and miss. He used to make something called Dad’s surprise, which was basically a can of every vegetable we had floating around with some noodles in tomato soup. Not the best dinner I’ve ever had. We never said too much because we didn’t want to hurt his feelings, and Mom surely wasn’t going to say anything because she was just happy to have the night off.
It was the night he made this beef stroganoff very similar to the recipe I found on Recipe Lion. It was AH-MAZE-ING. We all went back for a second helping.
I was sure to tell Dad how good it was so that he would make it again for us. He was so proud of his accomplishments that he even did the dishes that night too!
