This Cube Steak Will Make Your Tongue Dance In Delight!

This cubed steak with gravy is the number one dish my husband and I make on a regular basis at home.  It also happens to be the very first dish I ever made in my crock pot.  I am glad this was my first, too! The dish was sophisticated and pretty, while the amount of prep work and cook time was minimal.  It was the easiest way to dive into the world of crock pots and boy was it the best recipe to do it with!

Oh goodness, yes! Gravy over a nice big dollop of mashed potato is just heaven on a plate.  You are going to love the gravy on this one!

Ingredients

1 packet of au jus gravy mix

1 can Campbell’s cream of chicken soup undiluted

1 can French onion soup undiluted

1/2 cup of water

1 ½-2 pounds cubed steak

to thicken gravy:

3 tbsp Argo cornstarch

3 tbsp cold water

Instructions

In the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker, combine cream of chicken soup, French Onion soup, packet of au jus and water. Mix thoroughly until fully combined.

Put cubed steak in slow cooker with gravy mixture.

Cover slow cooker and cook steak on low for 6-8 hours.

After cooking, it’s time to thicken gravy. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water. Stir mixture into crock pot.

Turn the setting to high and cook for 30 minutes (until gravy is thickened.)
