A moist and decadent cake that makes you come back for another slice.
If there is one thing that I’ve learned since moving to Pennsylvania it’s that the Amish folks sure are good cooks. There is this little store down from my house that is run by two Amish ladies and they sell tons of goodies and treats there. I go over and purchase a few things about once every two weeks. If I go more often than that I think I’d be as big as an elephant. But you know what? We’ve all gotta live a little from time to time, right? Plus, the Amish use wholesome ingredients, which are far better than preservative-laden boxed cake mixes, so there’s that 🙂
Anyway, these ladies sell everything from homemade donuts to cakes and pies. One of their cakes that I am particularly keen on is the chocolate chip applesauce cake. One day, I asked one of the ladies if they would share their recipe with me and she did!
So, lucky for you guys and gals, I now get to share it with you. Food.com had the same recipe on their website, too! I know you guys and gals will truly appreciate this recipe as it turns out to insanely moist and decadent. I could literally eat this yummy cake for days.
