This Cake Was Born Decades Ago And It Still Rules The World

So Buttery And Gooey, You Could Almost Call It Fudge!

Hey everyone! Who’s ready for another dreamy dessert recipe? I know I am, especially when it’s a cake my mother used to make almost every week.

My brothers and I were crazy about butter cake, St. Louis style, to be exact. We would have gladly eaten it for breakfast, lunch and dinner if Mom hadn’t been so strict about it! It was only for dessert, and only if we finished our meals.

So you can be sure whenever there was butter cake for dessert, we would have cleared our plates even if we’d had cat food for dinner!

This recipe brought back such fun memories that I decided to give it a try and see if it was as yummy as the one my mother made. And I have to say, the flavor is almost identical. I’m probably going to have to make both this, and my mother’s recipe at the same time to see if I can even notice a difference!

If you’re looking for a simple, easy-to-make that never lets you down, you’ve come to the right place!
