Butterscotch Cookie Rice Krispy Bars – Making Children Behave All Across The Nation

Going to Grandma’s after school when we were younger was always a big treat.

She lived on a street where a lot of friends from school lived, so we always ran in, dropped our book bags, and headed right back out to play. After about an hour or so, hunger would kick in. We would slowly make our way back to Grandma’s ready to raid the cupboards with a few of our buddies. On special occasions, she would have some yummy treats already waiting for us.

One of my favorite desserts was the butterscotch Krispy bars that she made. They were just like this recipe. They tasted way better than those store-bought snacks…even better than a candy bar in my opinion.

We would always sit on the back porch and gobble ours down before heading out to run and play again. Needless to say, if Mom ever asked if we wanted to go to Gram’s after school, we never had any arguments.

Making these bars at home now remind of those days that we would play until dusk waiting for our parents to come and pick us up. Such good memories.
