This Broccoli Cheese Soup Hugs Your Soul

When I was a teenager, I had to go to the surgeon and have my wisdom teeth cut out. Now if you’ve ever had this done, you know how sore, and hungry you are afterwards. It’s too bad you aren’t allowed to eat barely anything, not that you want to because of how bad your mouth hurts. My mom seemed to know exactly what I needed, because I’ve always loved broccoli and who doesn’t adore cheese?!?

She went and got me a nice bowl of broccoli and cheese soup from our local hometown diner. It was amazing! I don’t know if it was the flavor, or the fact that I was starving that turned this soup into my new favorite meal.

For years and years I could never duplicate it, or even find it again anywhere. That was, until I came across this recipe on Recipe Lion. It’s a perfect match!

With just 30 minutes in the kitchen, plus a few minutes of prep time, I had my very own bowl of personal comfort to indulge in. I was kind enough to share it with my family and they all loved it too. I enjoy making this when I can’t shake the winter chill, or just when I need to brighten my spirits. It works wonders for both situations!
