My son recently graduated from high school and was moving on to college. I was going to miss him so much I already knew it. Even though most of the time he was driving me bonkers, I didn’t want to see him go. Thankfully, his school was only about an hour and a half from home. I tried to convince him to just commute, but he wanted the whole dorm experience…and I couldn’t really fault him for that. The day came that we packed him up and followed him down to the place that he was now going to call home. It didn’t really hit me until I got in the car to drive home, my baby was all grown up.
The tears started flowing and they never quit until I went to bed that night. A couple of weeks later he called and said he was coming home for the weekend. Yay! I asked if there was anything special he wanted for dinner. He said anything homemade. I searched the internet and found this recipe for pizza bread on Group Recipes.
Hot dog! Pizza was his favorite. Wrapped up like this it looked amazing. When he got home I couldn’t stop staring at him. It looked like he had aged about three years in those few weeks. He devoured his pizza bread, kissed my forehead, and went off to hang out with his old buddies. Even if it was just for a while, I was so glad to have him home.
