Want to make a stunning and delicious dessert, but don’t have a lot of time for baking? It takes less than an hour to have this scrumptious cake roll ready, although I recommend letting it chill in the fridge for an hour before serving (yeah, right – not gonna happen at our house!)
Whether you have the patience to let this chill or not, you are going to enjoy one of the tastiest, old-fashioned desserts I can think of. My mother and grandmother always made cake rolls for potlucks and family gatherings, and sometimes even for special occasions instead of a layered cake.
I love the fact that it’s so easy to switch the flavors just by adding a different kind of filling. And if you add frosting or chocolate icing on top, you’re going to end up with something that will completely blow your mind!
This is my favorite recipe for a cake roll and I make this at least once a month, usually “just because”, on a regular weeknight to pamper my family after a rough day.
