Baked Beef And Cheese Surprise: You Won’t Believe What Ingredient Gives This Dish So Much Flavor!

Even your tofu-hating friends or family members will love this. Because it’s baked, and because it has other ingredients with it, they wouldn’t even get to taste the tofu so much. This recipe is perfect for a large crowd. Watch as the pan slowly becomes empty by the minute. I love baked dishes and I love tofu! Add the cheese in the equation and I am one happy eater. This dish is healthy because of the tofu even though it doesn’t taste like that.

 

My friends who don’t care too much about tofu actually love this dish! It’s something that they didn’t expect so they just fell in love with it without any question.

 

Ingredients

250g Tyson minced beef

1/3 Wyler’s beef seasoning cube

half large yellow/white onion, finely chopped

1 tbsp Bertolli olive oil

Sargento shredded mozzarella cheese

150g Azumaya firm white tofu (water drained), cut to smaller and flat pieces

Seasonings

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

McCormick freshly cracked black pepper

1 tbsp McCormick curry powder

 

Instructions

In a bowl, add minced beef and seasonings. Mix well and let it marinade for about 10 minutes.

Heat up a pan with some olive oil and add the onions and beef cube. Saute or fry on gentle heat till the onions look translucent.

Add the minced beef. Stir fry for a very short while (around 30 seconds) and turn off the flame. Continue to fry the beef (breaking them to small bits with your spatula) with the flame off to prevent overcooking. It is all right if the beef is not totally cooked at this point (and it shouldn’t be) as you are going to bake it further. If you overcook the beef, it will taste chewy and tough.

In the baking dish, add tofu slices (notice that they are quite thinly sliced) to line the bottom of the dish.

Spoon the beef and onions mixture you prepared earlier in step 2 over the tofu.

Top it up with a generous layer of shredded cheese.

Bake in preheated oven 200c (400F) for about 15-20 minutes.

Your baked tofu and beef is ready when the cheese is fully melted and slightly browned.
