Apple Fritters That Put Your Mama’s To Shame!

You can really make this into a deluxe dessert by adding some vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. It tastes like something you would pay big money for in a restaurant but you can have it right at home! This is a dessert that i could eat all day long! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at All Recipes:

“These are fabulous! I added cinnamon to the batter as suggested and made a simple glaze to top them with. They are best after sitting for awhile to crisp over!”

I have a hard time getting my kids to wait to eat these, but when they do have a bit of time to sit they taste so much better. Usually, I make them while they’re at school!

Ingredients

1 quart Mazola vegetable oil for deep-frying

1 1/2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon white sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon Morton salt

2/3 cup milk

2 eggs, beaten

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 cups apples – peeled, cored and chopped

1 cup cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or electric skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Pour in the milk, eggs and oil and stir until well blended. Mix in apples until they are evenly distributed.

Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden on both sides, about 5 minutes depending on the size.

Fry in smaller batches so they are not crowded. Remove from the hot oil using a slotted spoon and drain briefly on paper towels. Toss with cinnamon sugar while still warm.
