This Amazing Chocolate Chess Pie Is Great Eaten over An Intense Game Of Cards

When I was a kid, playing cards was one of my favorite past times. I and my cousins loved playing Black Jack, Lucky Nine, Play 8, and even Pairs. We were never the fans of poker. We thought that was for adults only. We only enjoyed the classic cards game. We never used money though whenever we played. Our favorite consequence was lipstick. Mom and my aunts had probably sacrificed a lot of their sticks just so we wouldn’t be tempted to ever use money.

During last time’s gathering, Jem bought a stack of cards. She took it out after dinner so most of us were simply enjoying a slice each of the decadent chocolate chess pie that Aunt Carmen had made for us. Since most of us were excited to play our childhood card games, the older generation excused us from dish cleanup. Our cousins-in-law even volunteered to put their kids to sleep just so we could finally start on our game.

Oh my goodness, I sucked at Play 8! I used to be so good at that. I kind of sucked big time that night because it has been so long since I’ve played cards with them and I forgot the strategies I used to employ. At least we got to enjoy the night!
