My grandma used to make cube steak like this all the time and we loved it!
When I was little, my Mom used to make this incredible steak that our whole family loved. We had a special baking oven in our house, heated with wood, and whenever she was done baking bread she would put the steak in the oven and leave it for a few hours. That soft heat from the oven and the long cooking time made the steak so tender you could have eaten it with a spoon!
There’s no baking oven in my house so I needed to find another recipe I could use, to try and recreate that steak Mom made. I have a slow cooker so I decided to give this Swiss steak recipe a try. I’m so glad I did! This turned out so juicy, tender and flavorful, that I had to call my Mom and tell her about it! I highly recommend you go for the full amount of steak here – you’re going to want to have some leftovers!
