Are You In A Dinner Rut?

Brrr..! We are having one of the coldest days of the winter here up North! On days like this I always dream of living in a far away place where I could wear flip-flops and shorts all year long. But I have to admit there is an upside to these winter days, as well – and that is that I get to make all these wonderful stews! Sure, I could make them year round but somehow I’ve always felt like stews make the perfect winter dishes.

The scent alone, lingering in the house as this cooks, makes me feel warm inside and helps me fight these dreadful temperatures! When it comes to stews, nothing beats the good ol’ crock pot!

Slow cooking a stew will give it extra flavor, and it also makes the meat so tender you won’t even need your knife. This burgundy stew with herb dumplings is one of my new favorites!
