Lightning Fast Peach Dumplings

My Aunt Jenny always made the best peach dumplings. There was just something about going over to her house and knowing we were having those for dessert that brings back all kinds of great childhood memories. I remember playing down by the pond with my sister catching toads and turtles…trying to not fall in. At night we would run through the fields catching lighting bugs and put them in jars to stare at for hours.

Usually, while those little insects were bouncing around inside their jars, we would be sitting out on the back deck enjoying the night air.

Aunt Jenny would come out with two big bowls of peach dumplings covered in ice cream…one for each of us. While we sat there eating she would tell us about how things were when she grew up on the same property.

They were the best stories. Now that I’m an Aunt, I found my own peach dumplings on Spend With Pennies, and when my niece and nephew come over, I try to share the same experience with them. I hope I’m doing a good job. I know one thing for sure, the peach dumplings always get eaten up!
