Friday Night Taco Pizza

When I was in high school, I always used to try and go to my friend Jessica’s house for sleepovers on Friday night. Not only did I love to spend time with her, I loved that her family always got pizza on that night. We didn’t get much takeout at my house so it was a real treat to go over there. On one such Friday, we arrived after school expecting to see takeout boxes sitting on the counter as usual.

They weren’t there. I tried to hide the disappointment in my face when her mom walked into the kitchen. She said, “Why so glum? It’s Friday!” Epic fail. Jessica said, “Where’s the pizza mom?”

Little did we know that she had something bigger and better planned for us than we ever imagined. Taco pizza! She made it homemade just like this recipe on The Pioneer Woman.

It was so much better than any pizza I had ever had. I had a hard time at first figuring out lettuce on pizza but it really went together. Now, I make this pie once and a while for my family.

They love when we try something different than the usual fast food pizza we’re used to. I’m more than happy to make this simple recipe any day of the week.
