Better Than Outback’s Blooming Onion, This Recipe Is The Bomb Diggity!

I love a good onion ring.  I mean, I am a total onion hater and will not eat them on or in anything, but when they are coated in delicious breading and then deep fried, I can forgive them and chomp them up.  I have found that onion rings are such a great side to many things.  I will eat them as my serving of veggies for the day all the time. Hahaha. Anyway, when you find the perfect recipe for good, thick, flavorful and zesty onion rings, you cannot put it down.

Let me tell you about my time at Outback.  One time, I went there with my grandma and as an appetizer, I ordered a blooming onion.  Well, little did I know, she did not like that.  So there I sat, unnoticing the fact that my grandma did not like it and ate the whole darn thing on all my own.

I was mortified (and needless to say, stuffed before the food even came)! I could not believe what I had just done.  So I figured, I would start making these at home, but much smaller.  Just one portion at a time.  And guess what resulted? The best-blooming onions I have ever tasted!
