My Aunt Joan is the master when it comes to hosting dinner parties. Whenever she says that she is having one, I make sure to clear my calendar. Not only does she make a ton of good foods, it’s always a great atmosphere. Everyone knows how well she can cook, so pretty much the whole family will show up to enjoy an afternoon of dining and visiting. Usually on the table we will find meatballs and macaroni and cheese. She always made this because she knew those were two things that the kids would eat.
The last time I went over there for a Saturday afternoon get together, I saw the meatballs, but the mac and cheese was missing. I was a little worried because my kids really look forward to that dish. When I asked Aunt Joan about it, she said, “Oh it’s there honey, you just have to find it…” with a wink. I thought she might be going a little crazy but we sat down with our plates anyways.
When I bit into my meatball, it gushed out the most amazing flavor…there was the macaroni and cheese! I didn’t think my kids would appreciate the taste, but they couldn’t stop eating them. I was sure to snag this recipe, which was just like the one from Spend With Pennies, before we left that day.
