My kids love spaghetti. When I say they love it, sometimes I question if they love it more than me. They are those kinds of kids that only eat about four different things for dinner. When I want to sit down to a nice family meal, I will make this dish. My husband was never a big fan of spaghetti, and he really didn’t care for mine. Believe it or not, he would rather eat the kind that came out of the can than what I had made. So disappointing I know. After the last time I made it and he ate leftovers from the night before rather than a fresh meal, I decided that I had to make a change.
That’s when I searched and found this recipe on Food.com. I figured it was worth a shot. At the least, he wouldn’t like it, and that’s where we already were. Well, when I served it, he almost went to the fridge for something else. I told him it was different and that he should try it first.
When he took a bite, his eyes lit up and he started nodding his head in approval. There was no question my kids were going to devour theirs. I don’t ever make spaghetti any other way now.

Quick Tip: Split the sausage half and half with ground beef.
I always add a couple of table spoons of vinegar, a table spoon of sugar, and one half table spoon of cinnamon. …..???????
Thank you, it’s wonderful recipe.
I notice it calls for Hunts tomatoes. I would also advise to use Hunts tomato paste. I have used others, but Hunts is the best. I also like to chop up some celery and add it in.
I mix mine with half Italian sausage and half lean-ground beef. I’ve never tried it with the Cabernet wine before, but I definitely will next time I make it…it sounds like a great idea!
A good Chianti would work well too.
Don’t you drain the grease off the meat, seems like you would
I have never ordered spaghetti out.
