Last week, I was watching an HBO movie with one of my friends’ son. He was a bit preoccupied with playing with his action figures, but I loved the movie because it was one of my childhood favorites. It’s called the Addams Family. It’s an odd family suspected of being monsters. With the way they dressed and the way they looked, it wasn’t really surprising that people thought of them that way. They even lived in a huge mansion that looked like of one those haunted houses we see in horror movies. It would have been the perfect setting for a horror movie actually, but Addams family was a comedy movie for families.
That night, before he was to be fetched by his mom, I cooked dinner for both of us. I thought of making this turkey pot pie soup that I just discovered recently because it was light. I didn’t know if his mom would tak ehim to dinner somewhere so I made it just so he wouldn’t be hungry while we wait for his mom. He was a quiet boy and accepted the soup. However, once he was eating, he asked me what it was. I asked if it was good and he nodded his head. However, when I answered that it was a turkey pot pie soup, he stopped eating. He said he didn’t want to eat the monster child. It took a few seconds for me to realize that he was talking about the movie. I didn’t know he was watching! There was a part there where Pugsley was dressed as a turkey for a school play and they were about to cook him! Oh my goodness. Kids and their imagination.
