We eat takeout food way too much at our house, and I’m the first to admit it. With busy schedules, it’s just to easy to allow someone else to make your dinner for you. As part of my New Year’s Resolution, I vowed to feed my family less food from a container and more food from the kitchen. One day, while searching for recipes online, I had the craving for some Asian-inspired food.
That’s when I came across this recipe on Spend with Pennies for Honey Garlic Chicken. It sounded like a meal that I got from one of my favorite restaurants down the street. Even though I was tempted to pick up the phone and place an order, I picked up a pencil and paper and wrote down the ingredients.
After a quick shopping trip, I was able to make this the next day. It was just as good as the takeout place, if not better, and it came from my own slow cooker. I cleaned up dinner and gave myself a pat on the back.
