Tony’s Buttermilk Custard Pear Pie Will Put Your Mother’s To Shame

Tony sent me another one of her creamy concoctions the other day—a custard pear pie. And no, I’m not complaining. But I feel like I need to share with you why she loves sending people her baked goodies. It started because of a movie. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the movie, “Pay It Forward” where the kid decided that to get rid of the world’s evilness, one person has to do three good deeds.

And that person who received the good deeds has to do another three. And so on and so forth. We were just kids back then. Middle school to be exact.

But it was the age when such things could be embedded permanently in our minds. When we grew up, that’s exactly What Tony’s been doing. Except she’s using food.

She said it’s what she’s best at so that’s what she’s going to contribute to the goodness of the society. Every time she received a cake or pie  or anything baked from a friend, she would bake three and send it to people.

Sometimes, I do the same whenever I receive one from her, but because of lack of time, I am not able to anymore. However, I still admire her. Tony sure has a good heart. These simple acts of kindness can actually change the world soon.

Quick Tip: For the pie crust: Always make your rolled out dough larger than you need so you can trim the edge. When you can get the edge all the same length, it will help make the crimping go easier and neater.
