You have no idea how much I love using puff pastry. I remember when I first discovered them (at least as an adult, anyway!). I had gone out shopping with my sister and we were starved afterwards! We did not want to go out and spend a lot of money and stay out long because it was getting late and we were far from home. So we hopped in our car and as I drove, she looked up some yummy Pinterest recipe.
Well, she discovered Pizza Rolls. We were so excited to try these, we stopped at the supermarket, picked up the ingredients and went home to try them. Oh my gosh, they were amazing. We knew we had to find even more stuff do with these puff pastry sheets we had.
For now, we knew we wanted to make a dessert, so we pulled out some ingredients and got to work. And so, this little almond pastry baby was born. It is sweet, and almost like a Danish.
So good! This is worth every calorie and every bit of work. But let’s be honest… it doesn’t take a lot of work! You will see what I mean when you give it a try.
